Dhaka, March 3 -- Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud on Monday said he wanted to bring some basic changes in the way projects are conceived and approved, but failed to do so due to giving less attention to the Planning Commission.

He made the statement while briefing reporters after the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting at the planning ministry with chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.

The planning adviser said that any project is formulated in two ways, one is DPP by any ministry and another is from the Planning Commission which is called the Project Evaluation Committee.
