Feni, July 25 -- A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead and another injured after India's Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly opened fire along Bashpaduya border in Parshuram upazila of Feni late Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Millat Hossain, 21, son of Yusuf Miah of Bashpaduya village. The injured, Md Afsar, 31, is the son of Ayer Ahmed from the same area.

According to locals and the BGB, the duo allegedly crossed the border near the Gathuma Border Outpost (BOP) area around 1am when BSF members opened fire, injuring them.

Locals rescued them and took to Parshuram Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Feni General Hospital, they said.

Millat died on the way while Afsar is undergoing treatment, according to them.
