Dhaka, June 25 -- Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Tuesday said Bangladesh has reached a new height thanks to its economic and political stability.

"Now, Bangladesh stands at a new height due to economic and political stability," she told a visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation led by Daisaku Kihara at her Parliament office.

During the meeting, different issues including economic development, climate change, sustainable development and food security of Bangladesh, the role of MPs in the economic development, and IMF activities came up for discussion.
