DHAKA, Jan. 29 -- Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus on Wednesday said Bangladesh's media are now enjoying an unprecedented freedom, but misinformation and disinformation have flooded the social media.

He made the remarks when a delegation of the Open Society Foundations headed by its chairman, Alex Soros, and President Binaifer Nowrojee, called on him expressing support for reforms undertaken by the interim government.

The Open Society Foundations leadership discussed Bangladesh's efforts to rebuild the economy, trace siphoned-off assets, combat misinformation and carry out vital economic reforms.
