Dhaka, May 14 -- Bangladesh's Ambassador to Sweden, Wahida Ahmed, paid a courtesy call on Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard at the Swedish Foreign Ministry on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the Swedish Foreign Minister congratulated Ambassador Wahida on her new assignment, said a press release issued by the Bangladesh Embassy in Stockholm.

She also recalled the longstanding friendly relations between Bangladesh and Sweden, which span over 53 years.
