Dhaka, July 18 -- In observance of the anniversary of the July-August mass uprising, a symbolic marathon was held in the capital on Friday morning with the participation of the July warriors and the family members of those who were injured and martyred in the movement.

The five-kilometre symbolic marathon began at 7 am from the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre.

Some 1000 competitors passed through key points, including Ganabhaban, the Parliament Complex and Khamarbari before concluding at the starting point.
