, May 22 -- Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Dr Khandaker Rahat Hossain, cousin of Awami League leader Amir Hossain Amu from Uttara area of Dhaka on Thursday.

Rahat was arrested in connection with an attempted murder case filed with Rampura Police Station on February 11, said Rabiul Islam Bhuiya, joint commissioner of DB (north).

He was the no. 32 accused in the case.

Based on secret information, a team of the DB police conducted a drive in Uttara Sector-1 and arrested Rahat from his home.
