, Feb. 2 -- A Tangail court on Sunday acquitted ten people and sentenced two people to life imprisonment in a case filed for killing Awami League leader Faruk Ahmed in 2013.

Judge of the Tangail Additional District and Session Judge Md Mahmudul Hasan handed down the punishment.

The lifers are-Kabir Hossain Kabir, son of Mokhlesur Rahman and Mohamamd Ali, son of Ramjan of the district. Both of them were tried in absentia.

The court also fined them Tk 5 lakh each, in default, to suffer one year more in rigorous imprisonment.
