Dhaka, June 8 -- Confusion arose on Sunday regarding the reported death of popular film actress Tanin Subha, after a miscommunication led to widespread but premature announcements of her passing.

According to hospital sources and colleagues present at the scene, Tanin has been declared brain dead by doctors, but her heart is still beating. She remains on life support on Sunday.

The confusion began when her younger brother misunderstood the doctor's statement. When the doctor informed him that Tanin was "brain dead," he mistakenly believed it meant she had died.
