Dhaka, June 24 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday ordered its director Enamul Basir and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman to appear before it on July 1 for interrogation.

A three-member ACC team, led by director Sheikh Mohammad Fanafilla, is investigating allegation brought against them.

Basir was suspended on June 10 for allegedly leaking information, a breach of job discipline.

According to a report ran by a private TV, Basir demanded Tk 40 lakh in bribe ahead of a search against DIG Mizanur.

He took Tk 25 lakh from Mizanur and sought the rest within the next week. He demanded a car to bring his son to school and disclosed important information regarding ACC.
