Rangpur, July 13 -- Begum Rokeya University (BRU) in Rangpur is set to observe the first martyrdom anniversary of its student Abu Sayed and 'July Shaheed Day' on July 16.
To ensure foolproof security ahead of the event, the university authorities have restricted the entry of outsiders into the campus for three days, beginning Sunday evening until the morning of July 16.
The move is part of preparations to commemorate Abu Sayed, recognised as the first martyr of last year's anti-discrimination movement.
A notice issued by the university on Saturday night said no outsiders will be allowed on the campus from 7pm on Sunday until 9am on Wednesday to maintain security and discipline during the observance.
