Dinajpur, July 5 -- Eight people suffered burn injuries after a gas cylinder caught fire during repairs at a house in Dinajpur town's Kalitola area on Saturday afternoon.

The injured are identified as housewife Rubina (40), technician Riyad (20), Molab (30), Amisha (45), Shahjahan Kabir (20), Shirin Islam, Sazo (13), and Sajib (25).

Mahbub Alam, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said Rubina bought a new gas cylinder from a shop after the existing one ran out. As the replacement cylinder failed to function, she called the shop owner, who sent technician Riyad to inspect it.
