, March 8 -- Detectives in a drive have arrested six people in connection with their alleged involvement in the looting of gold jewellery after shooting a gold trader in Banasree area of the capital on February 24.
A team of DB police in a drive arrested the six people from different parts of the capital, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP.
They also recovered gold ornaments and illegal arms from their possession, he said.
A press briefing will held over the arrest Saturday noon.
On February 24, 45-year-old businessman Anwar Hossain was shot and robbed of gold jewellery in the capital's Banasree.
Anwar who sustained bullet wounds on his hands and legs was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
