Sylhet, Feb. 20 -- Police recovered the body of a 50-year-old man from a residential hotel in the Lalbazar area of Sylhet's Bandarbazar on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Shamsul Alam, a resident of Mirpur-12 in Dhaka and the son of Abdul Barek, said Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Ziaul Haque.

"There were no visible injury marks on his body. The door was locked from the inside. His (victim) family has been informed," the OC said.

Unidentified woman's body recovered in Savar

According to police, Shamsul Alam had arrived in Sylhet for business purposes on February 13. When hotel staff failed to reach him on Thursday, they notified police.
