Brahmanbaria, June 10 -- At least 50 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a trifling matter at Dakkhin Srighar in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday.

Khairul Alam, officer-in-charge of Nasirnagar Police Station, said an altercation was ensued among the supporters of Sarkar Bari and Boro Bari around 6:30 am over eating a cucumber.

At one stage, the supporters of both groups, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other, leaving at least 50 people injured.
