, Sept. 5 -- Five people, including a child, were injured after a truck hit two battery-run rickshaws in the capital's Mouchak area on Friday afternoon.

The accident took place around 4:15 pm at the Mouchak point.

The injured were identified as Nurul Haque Hadi, Eva Akter, rickshaw pullers Tariqul and Faridul Islam, and an unidentified child.

Police and witnesses said a truck of Chinese Sino Hydro Company (Chattogram Metro Sha-11-12117) coming from Malibagh Railgate lost control after its brakes failed and hit a rickshaw in front. The rickshaw was crushed under the truck.

The speeding truck then hit another rickshaw, leaving its driver injured.
