Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- A total of 42 aggrieved aspirants on Monday filed appeal petitions with the Election Commission, challenging the decisions of returning officers over the acceptance and rejection of nomination papers.

Of the appeals, 41 were filed against the rejection of nomination papers while one was lodged against the acceptance of a nomination.

Appeals against the cancellation of nomination papers were filed from the following constituencies: Lalmonirhat-1 (1), Rangpur-1 (1), Rangpur-4 (1), Bogra-3 (1), Chapainawabganj-2 (1), Rajshahi-5 (1), Natore-1 (1), Jessore-5 (1), Narail-1 (1), Bagerhat-1 (1), Khulna-6 (1), Patuakhali-3 (1), Tangail-1 (1), Kishoreganj-1 (1), Kishoreganj-4 (1), Munshiganj-3 (1), Dhaka-3 (2), Dhaka-9 (1), Dhaka...
