Netrakona, March 20 -- In a barbaric incident, a four-year-old girl has been raped allegedly by her uncle at Bashati village in Sadar upazila.

Victim's family and locals said Saheb Ali, 32, husband of the victim's maternal aunt and son of Ijjat Ali of the village, violated the girl on Tuesday evening after finding her alone at the house.

Hearing her screams, family members and locals rushed in and caught Saheb red-handed. He was later handed over to police.

The victim was first taken to Sadar Hospital from where she was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning, said officer-in-charge of Netrakona Model Police Station M Borhan Uddin Khan.
