Rajshahi, Jan. 1 -- Four people were killed and another was injured when a sand-laden truck lost control and overturned at a village market in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi on Thursday morning.

The accident occurred at local Jhalmalia Bazar where banana trading was underway.

However, the identities of the victims are yet to be determined.

Quoting witnesses, Puthia Fire Service said the truck veered off the road and hit a group of people who were engaged in banana trading around 7:40am, leaving four people dead on the spot and another injured.

The injured was sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
