, May 14 -- A Dhaka court on Wednesday sent three people to jail in a case filed over the killing of Shahriar Alam Shammo, a Dhaka University (DU) student and a leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD).

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jamshed Alam passed the order when police produced them before the court with a plea to send them to prison.

Earlier on Tuesday, police arrested the trio identified as Tamim Hawladar, 30, Palash Sardar, 30 and Samrat Mallik, 28-from the capital.
