Dhaka, June 29 -- Three members of a family including an engineering university student were killed after being hit by a speeding truck in Uttara area of Dhaka early Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Amit ,23, a student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology and his relatives Naimul Haque ,32, an employee at a private firm, and Javed Alam Khan 55.

The trio was standing on the roadside at Azampur intersection under Uttara East Police Station around 2 am when the stone-laden truck from Mymensingh ran over them, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Uttara East Police Station Md Golam Mostafa.
