Dhaka, Feb. 18 -- The government will construct 214 new model mosques at the upazila level, Religious Affairs Adviser A F M Khalid Hossain announced on Monday.

The adviser made the statement to reporters on Tuesday (February 18) after the 11th session of the final day of the Deputy Commissioners' (DC) Conference at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital. The session was held with the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Khalid Hossain said, "We will construct 214 new model mosques in each upazila. In selecting the sites, the district commissioners will serve as the chairmen of the site selection committees. We have instructed them to monitor and ensure proper site selection and high-quality construction materials."
