Faridpur, Oct. 6 -- At least 20 people were injured in a violent clash between two rival groups at Ramkantpur village in Saltha upazila of Faridpur on Monday morning.
At least 8-10 of the injured were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and Boalmari Hospital, while others received primary treatment.
The dispute reportedly stemmed from an altercation over a carrom board game.
According to locals, tensions had been building since a quarrel broke out a few days earlier between two youths-Rakib, a supporter of local influential figure Osman Talukder, and Layek, a supporter of his rival Quddus Talukder-during a carrom game at the village market.
