Dhaka, March 19 -- A court here on Tuesday placed two Saudi Airlines crew on a one-day remand in a case filed over the recovery of gold bars from them.

Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order after sub-inspector Shafiqul Islam of Airport Police Station, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before his court seeking a 10-day remand in the case.

Those remanded are Sayma Akhter and Farjana Afrose.

The duo was detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the early hours of Monday for illegally carrying gold.
