Dhaka, May 26 -- year-old schoolgirl died after being hit by a BRTC bus while crossing the road at Kamalapur intersection in the capital's Motijheel area on Monday morning.

The deceased is Roshni Pal, a first-grade student of Motijheel Government Model School and hailed from Patgaon village in Tongibari upazila in Munshiganj district.

She used to live with her family in the Manda area of Mugda in the city.

The schoolgirl was critically injured in the accident that occurred around 9:30am, said witnesses.

She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital's emergency department by her grandmother Rekha Biswas.
