Dhaka, July 12 -- Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Saturday described the murder of scrap metal trader Lal Chand Sohag in front of Mitford Hospital in the capital as brutal and very regrettable.

He made the remark while speaking to reporters after attending a special police welfare meeting at Mill Barrack in Old Dhaka.

Responding to a question about the murder and mob violence, the adviser said, "The murder that took place in Dhaka is very unfortunate. So far, five people have already been brought under the law in connection with the incident."

Among them, two were arrested by RAB and two by DMP personnel. Later, another person was also arrested, he added.
