Gaibandha, March 29 -- In a heartfelt gesture to share the festive joy of Eid with low-income families, a "one-taka Eid market" (Ek Takar Eid Bazar) has been launched in Gaibandha.

Organised by the voluntary group "Amader Gaibandha," the initiative took place on Saturday afternoon.

Gaibandha Deputy Commissioner Chowdhury Moazzem Ahmed along with Superintendent of Police Nishat Angela, and President of Amader Gaibandha Sayem Rahman, inaugurated the initiative.

The event aimed to provide essential food items at the symbolic price of just one taka to 250 marginalised and lower-middle-income families.
