Mumbai, Feb. 22 -- Yokohama Rubber announced its membership in the Global Data Service Organisation for Tyres and Automotive Components (GDSO), an international non-profit focused on standardising and sharing tyre data. This move aims to improve tyre safety, efficiency, and customer service through better data access and management.

GDSO seeks to establish global agreements on tyre data formats, enabling easier sharing and use across the industry. This includes developing online access platforms and a serialised identification system, potentially using radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags.
