India, Aug. 24 -- Weekend lockdown in Haryana has been declared after the state witnesses sudden spike in COVID-19 cases. No shops, malls or offices, only essential services will be allowed to run. By Tanvi Jain

In the light of the rising COVID-19 cases across Haryana, the state government has imposed a weekend lockdown, which means that all non-essential shops and services will remain shut on Saturdays and Sundays. "All offices and shops except essential will remain closed in Haryana on every Saturday and Sunday due to #COVID__19," Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij said in a tweet.
