India, April 13 -- For a decade or so, Asian restaurants in Kolkata-barring the Chinese mainstays-had an understated energy, like the eating houses from yore. Low seating, orange paper lamps hanging over tables that are few and far between, but packed into snug little corners that were intimate in an old-school fashion. While those establishments still remain, the city is gradually witnessing a wave of Asian eateries that embrace our party-going side.
