India, May 1 -- Owing to the nationwide lockdown, air quality levels have improved substantially. Nature's marvels have been revealing themselves due to lack of pollution and cleaner air. Recently, residents of Saharanpur got to witness the snow-capped peaks of Gangotri. By Upasana Singh

For the first time in over three decades, peaks of the Gangotri range of mountains on the Himalayas became visible from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Since the lockdown has been imposed to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus, India has witnessed a lack of industrial activity and traffic that has led to lower levels of pollution. As the Air Quality Index (AQI) dipped below 50 in this UP town, the snow-laden peaks made a beautiful appearance.
