Bengaluru, June 26 -- In a huge relief to electricity consumers, the Maharashtra Government has announced a multi-phased reduction in power tariffs, a historic first in Maharashtra. The tariffs will be reduced to 26% over 5 years, starting with the initial 10% reduction in FY 2026.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has accepted MSEDCL's(Maharashtra's leading electricity distribution utility) proposal.
