Bengaluru, May 30 -- Imagine paying Bitcoin to skip the queue at one of the planet's most vital trade routes. Panama City's mayor, Mayer Mizrachi, just proposed exactly that. Speaking at the Bitcoin 2025 conference, he unveiled a bold vision. Ships could pay canal transit fees using Bitcoin. Consequently, they might gain priority passage through the Panama Canal.
