India, March 3 -- In a meeting that saw the participation of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, a senior leader had told party's organisation general secretary K.C. Venugopal about the discontent and unrest among Himachal Pradesh MLAs, say sources. However, apparently, no precaution was taken by Venugopal, which resulted in the Congress failing to secure the otherwise winnable Rajya Sabha from the state, with six MLAs cross voting against party candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, which resulted in his defeat.
