India, Feb. 4 -- The sale of electric vehicles has registered a growth of 49.25 per cent during the last calendar year, 2023 and the Government has given subsidy amounting to Rs 5790 crore to EV manufacturers on sale of 13,41,459 number of EVs under phase-II of the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) Electric Vehicles (FAME) scheme.

The Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) sanctioned 2,877 EV charging stations in 68 cities across 25 states/UTs. Out of these charging stations,148 EV charging stations are constructed and operational.
