India, Feb. 4 -- The Ministry of Law and Justice has notified the appointment of Chief Justices for several High Courts, including Meghalaya, Allahabad, Gauhati, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Punjab and Haryana.
The notification for Meghalaya High Court specified that, in the exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President has appointed Justice S. Vaidyanathan, currently serving as a Judge of the Madras High Court, to assume the role of Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court, effective from the date he assumes charge.
