Kullu, Sept. 4 -- Relentless rains have left a trail of destruction in Himachal Pradesh state, where more than 300 people have died since June 20. The state has been hit by repeated landslides, flash floods, and rain-triggered accidents, officials confirmed.

According to the State Disaster Management Authority, 166 deaths were reported in incidents such as landslides, electrocution, and drowning. Another 154 people were killed in weather-related road accidents. Nearly 380 others have suffered injuries.

As of now, all government and private educational institutions have been closed in five districts of Himachal Pradesh after the local meteorological centre issued a red alert for very heavy to extremely heavy rains in parts of the state....
