Washington, Feb. 27 -- The White House has finally named Amy Gleason as the acting administrator of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The Trump administration had faced growing pressure to disclose the identity of the official formally in charge of DOGE, particularly after court filings clarified that billionaire Elon Musk, whom President Donald Trump previously claimed was overseeing the initiative, had no direct authority over the cost-cutting program.
Gleason has a background in healthcare technology and previously worked in the first Trump administration. Her appointment to lead DOGE, which has been pushing aggressive budget cuts across federal agencies, has drawn significant attention.
