Massachusetts, Sept. 4 -- A federal judge in Boston ordered the current administration to overturn the funding cuts to Harvard University, calling them unlawful retaliation over governance disputes. US District Judge Allison Burroughs ruled that US President Donald Trump's administration unlawfully terminated about $2.2 billion in grants awarded to Harvard University and can no longer cut off research funding to the prestigious Ivy League school.
The decision marks a major win for Harvard, which has battled the administration over funding freezes, foreign student restrictions and threats to revoke its tax-exempt status.
