Tehran, March 13 -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected holding negotiations with the United States over a nuclear deal. Amid rising tensions over negotiating the deal, the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the US' threats of possible military action if Tehran refused talks were "unwise".

"The US is threatening militarism. In my opinion, this threat is unwise. Iran is capable of retaliating and will definitely inflict a blow," Khamenei said in a meeting. Last week, Trump said he had sent the letter to Khamenei proposing nuclear talks, but also warned that "there are two ways Iran can be handled: militarily, or you make a deal".
