California, July 11 -- Sabih Khan, a seasoned Apple veteran born in Moradabad, India, is set to take on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the company. Khan, who has been with Apple for the past three decades, will succeed Jeff Williams later this month, Apple announced.

CEO Tim Cook described him as "a brilliant strategist" and "one of the central architects of Apple's supply chain."
