New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- In a silver lining amid tariff tensions between India and the US, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has expressed confidence in the India-US ties, saying although the relationship is a "complicated" one, "at the end of the day," the two countries will "come together".

Speaking to news channel Fox Business, Bessent said the recent unease in New Delhi-Washington ties was not just due to India's hefty purchases of Russian oil, but also the delay in the two countries reaching a trade agreement.

"I do think India's the world's largest democracy, and the US is the world's largest economy. I think at the end of the day we will come together," he was quoted as saying.
