Washington, Oct. 31 -- With talk of a possible third Trump term gaining attention in Washington, House Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed he has discussed the matter with the president but stressed the Constitution bars it.
"I don't see a path for that," Johnson said at his daily press conference at the Capitol, now in its 28th day of the government shutdown. "He and I have talked about the constrictions of the Constitution."
"The Constitution's 22nd Amendment does not allow for a third presidential term," he said, noting that changing it would require years of state approvals and congressional votes," he added.
