New Delhi, April 24 -- Major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Amritsar, were placed on high alert hours after terrorists opened fire on a famed meadow near Kashmir's Pahalgam town this week.
The Delhi Police has tightened the city's security grid, stepping up checks at tourist hubs and sealing scrutiny at border points. Surveillance has been intensified and traffic movement regulated in high-risk zones, news agency PTI quoted officials as saying.
