New Delhi, Feb. 1 -- India was among 10-odd countries that attended a conclave in Kabul this week organized by the Taliban with a broader aim for regional cooperation, according to the Afghan media. India has not yet recognized the Taliban set up and has been pitching for the formation of a truly inclusive government in Kabul. There was no official word on the meeting from the Ministry of External Affairs.

The participating countries included India, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Indonesia and Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan's Khaama Press news agency reported. Russia was represented at the conclave by its special representative for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov.
