Chandigarh, June 18 -- State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Sukhmani Singh Advocate working in Sub-Registrar (East) Office, Ludhiana red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 9,500.

Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said the accused was arrested on the complaint of Amandeep Singh of village Jagirpur, Raho Road, Ludhiana. The complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the accused employee was demanding Rs 21,500 for mutation of his new shop. The complainant had already paid Rs. 6000 to the accused as a first installment.

After verifying his information, a vigilance team from Ludhiana laid a trap and the accused Sukhmani Singh was arrested on the spot taking bribe of Rs. 9,500 from the complainant...
