PATIALA, April 23 -- PUNJAB'S power couple of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal and his sitting MP wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal will slug it out in the Lok Sabha elections from Ferozepur and Bathinda respectively. Even though Sukhbir too is a former two-time MP, it is for the first time that the two will be contesting the same election together in the State.
Putting an end to weeks of speculations, SAD on Tuesday named its candidature of the couple, thereby fielding nominees for all 13 seats in the State.
The announcement was made by former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Lambi on Tuesday morning before the party issued a formal statement.
