CHANDIGARH, Oct. 30 -- MORE than 58.08 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana mandis as compared to over 57.23 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
Stating this here on Wednesday, a spokesman of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 55.79 lakh MT of paddy, whereas the remaining quantity of over 2.29 lakh MT of paddy has been procured by the millers.
He said that more than 30.88 lakh MT of paddy has been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department.
