SHIMLA, Nov. 5 -- GOVERNOR Bandaru Dattatraya called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday.

In his courtesy call, the Governor thanked the Prime Minister for his acceptance to inaugurate the 'Global Investors Meet' being organised by the Himachal Government at Dharamshala.

He said the state government has succeeded in signing MoUs worth Rs 85,000 crore so far. All these efforts would create employment opportunities in various sectors, he added.

The Governor thanked the Prime Minister for granting in-principle approval for construction of an international airport in Mandi district and expansion of the Shimla, Kangra and Kullu airports. He said that the Shimla rail line should be upgraded.
