CHANDIGARH, March 13 -- THE ruling Congress party in Punjab has reasons to cheer up despite poor show in the governance thanks to divided opposition in the state.

Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh is confident of winning majority of 13 Lok Sabha seats.

The two major opposition parties in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) and Shiromani Akali Dal(SAD) are split houses and are not in position to countt the ruling party.

Six out of 18 MLAs of AAP have formed a separate group without resigning from the party.
